FLOAT POD FAQs
How long is one session in the float pod?
One session lasts for one hour.
Who can float?
Anyone can float! Float pods can have a range of benefits from improving rehabilitation for athletes, decreasing the strain of pregnancy, and combating anxiety-related disorders such as PTSD and depression, which makes float therapy ideal for anyone who wants to invest in their physical and mental health!
What if I can’t float?
Don’t worry about that, we’ve got you covered. With 500KG of Epsom salts everybody floats!
What do I need to bring to my float session?
Here at Re:set, we provide the towels, shampoo& conditioner, and for those going from one treatment to another we provide you with a robe slippers and a basket to carry all your belongings. We recommend that you float completely naked, but you have the option of bringing a swimming suit.
Are our float pods hygienic?
Absolutely! All the water in our pods goes through the filtration system, the system is the width of 1/100th of a human hair. After every float the water passes through a UV light chamber and has a hydrogen peroxide dosing to ensure that the water is 100% clean and kills any bacteria. The outside of the pod and the rest of the room including: the shower, bench, floor, all switches, and handles are fully sanitised by staff after every use.
Can I float if I am claustrophobic?
The float pods themselves are much bigger than they appear to be in pictures and are 8 ½ feet x 5 ½ feet! To put your mind at ease feel free to come into Re:set and ask to see the pods for yourself and our staff will be more than happy to show you round. The average person will not be able to touch the sides when they are in the pods – which leaves plenty of room for relaxation!
Did you know that there is a light switch in our pods? The ability to turn the light on and off allows you to be in control of your float experience.
How much salt do you use in the pods?
We use half a ton of Epsom salt for each float session.
What is Epsom salt?
Epsom salt is a naturally occurring compound comprised of sulphate and magnesium. By absorbing magnesium and sulphate through the skin and therefore raising the levels of these minerals in your body, you can:
Flush toxins from your cells.
Ease migraines.
Regulate electrolytes which in turn improves nerve function.
Reduce blood clots.
Lower your blood pressure.
Relieve stress. To bind serotonin (a mood improvement chemical in the brain) the body needs adequate levels of magnesium.
Will the salt damage my hair?
The only time the solution can affect your hair is after using keratin treatments. Apart from that, as long as you use shampoo and conditioner after each float to wash away the Epsom salts your hair will be absolutely fine. Even better, your hair will actually be voluminous.
Can I float if I have recently dyed my hair?
