WHAT IS FLOTATION THERAPY?

Flotation as a practice was researched and developed in the 1950s by neuroscientist Dr John c Lily. Essentially, it enables you to achieve a deep state of physical and mental relaxation that is difficult to accurately emulate in any other environment.

Our state of the art Pods are filled with 10 inches of water which, when combined with 500kg of Epsom Salts, creates a saline solution allowing the user to float effortlessly.

Using a float pod creates a sensory deprived environment free from the external stimuli that affect both mental and physical stress. Once inside the Float Pod the experience is unique and personal to you, with inclusive or exclusive music, dark or lit atmosphere and a closed or open pod. You are in complete control.

After being randomly assigned to either a control group (17 participants) or an experimental group (20 participants) the experimental group received nine opportunities to use the flotation-REST technique in the water tank over a three-week period. The results indicated that the most severe perceived pain was significantly reduced!
