WHAT IS HALOTHERAPY?

Halotherapy (or Salt Therapy) is a natural therapy that uses nothing but natural salt to provide you with health benefits. A specialised Halogenerator grinds medical grade salt into minute breathable particles and disperses these particles into the salt room.

Our centre is designed to provide complimentary treatments including salt therapy which use state of the art devices to optimise the conditions within our salt rooms.

Whilst in a session, the salt particles are inhaled deep into the lungs to help loosen congestion, increase oxygen intake and cleanse the airways of smoke, dust, pollution, pollens and other allergens. When the salt lands on the skin it can also help to improve your skin health and relieve the symptoms of certain skin conditions.

BENEFITS OF SALT THERAPY

The benefits of salt therapy are wide-ranging. Salt levels affect our cell activity, energy and blood sugar levels. A natural disinfectant, salt is antimicrobial, and antibacterial. Salt comes in empty processed forms or healthier pure sea salt (Himalayan and Dead Sea salt) that contain 84 elements and trace elements found in the human body.

Dry salt air is more powerful than moist air. The negatively charged ions in salt improve our health and mood. Inhaling particles may reduce inflammation and mucus in the lungs, improving respiratory conditions such as asthma, allergies, bronchitis, sinus congestion and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Scientific studies show that people with asthma and other ailments breathe easier after participating in halotherapy sessions.

The calming and detoxifying effects of halotherapy can support the immune, nervous and lymphatic systems. Additional benefits are reduced stress and headaches, increased energy, and better sleep patterns. Salt ions purify the air and may increase lung capacity and reduce physical ailments. Treatments are recommended to help keep the body healthy during flu or allergy seasons.

Skin conditions can also be improved with halotherapy (psoriasis, rashes, eczema, acne). Table salt, sodium chloride, is dehydrating, but pure mineral salts have natural moisturising properties and support the skin’s water balance and barrier function by attracting moisture to the skin. Minerals are necessary for cell function and detoxification, so mineral salts have strong rejuvenating properties.

Here's what people are saying...
".... In a survey of 303 adults published in a 2014 issue of the Annals of Agricultural and Environmental Medicine, researchers found that while most women who purchased salt cave sessions were seeking relief from problems with their throats, larynxes or sinuses, men were equally seeking therapeutic and relaxation effects. Regardless of their reasons, they generally reported feeling better after the sessions." - U.S News Article, Stacey Colino, Sept. 13, 2017

Here's what people are saying...
"Altogether, I would say I was in the cave, inhaling the negative ions of Himalayan salt, for almost two hours. When I left, I felt similar to how I do after a yoga class—a sort of dazed peacefulness. I also noticed that, with it being the day after Thanksgiving and me feeling bloated and drowsy when I first arrived, I now felt lighter on my feet and more awake. The next day, I zipped up the mountain for my morning hike quicker than usual. My breathing felt more natural, and my skin felt squeaky clean and ready to sweat." - Alexa Erickson, Shape Magazine
